What to see & do
Wildlife abounds – seals, otters, deer and a wide variety of bird life can be observed, as can the rare Primula Scotica (Scottish Primrose). Enjoy unspoilt sandy beaches and miles of cliff and hill walking.
For the more energetic, Ben Loyal and Ben Hope (the most northerly Munro) are nearby and easily accessible. Sea, river and loch fishing are all readily available and the area is steeped in history.
If you wish to venture further afield, a trip to John o’Groats and the Orkney islands to the east, and Smoo cave, Cape Wrath and the spectacular mountain scenery of Assynt to the west can be achieved as a day excursion.
